A Demonstration of Panchavadyam

Our day begins with an experience of Panchavadhyam- a percussion of five instruments. Usually this opus is performed during the festivals. We shall provide a lecture demo and an interactive session with its artists to understand about its symphonies, its styles and legends behind.

Weavers of Chendamangalam

Get an interactive session with the handloom weavers of the region. Their ancestors had migrated from Tamil Nadu eons ago. They primarily settled here to weave for the Royal family. Today, these weavers have evolved into an effective society. Our effort is to introduce their stories and the challenges they face in the present times.

Explore the unique link the Palace maintains with the blacksmiths of the region. Meet the makers of the boutique cast iron antiques, whose ancestors have rendered skills in making unmatchable locking systems within the palace. Get a demonstration on their works and be introduced into the families, listen to their migration stories and the challenges they meet in the modern times.

Traditional lunch at Cranganore Heritage or similar.
An Essence of Chavittu Nadakam

Get introduced to Chavittu Nadakam. A highly vibrant folklore performance of the Latin Christians in Ernakulam, Kerala. This art form was introduced by Portuguese during 16th century. It is mostly performed on open stages and the stories are adapted from Bible. This art form is notable for its dazzling costumes resembling the Europeans monarchs. Chavittu Nadakam is blend of dance and drama which are rhythmic and briskly in nature.

Sunset Canoe along the archipelagoes

We shall wind up for the day after a sunset canoe experience along River Periyar. These archipelagoes were the gateway for the ancient port city of Muziris.
