Arrive at Kannur

Upon arrival at your distinguished hotels in Kannur, take the opportunity to rejuvenate before embarking on a day filled with enriching activities. This evening, should you
desire, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Kannur downtown or luxuriate in tranquil relaxation at your accommodations, perhaps indulging in a leisurely stroll along the picturesque beach during sunset

Witness a Kalaripayattu session (1 hour-only for std and premium packages) | We shall take you for a lecture demonstration on Kalaripayattu- a martial evolved in Kerala.
Understand the various combat process involved and its relationship to the Theyyam art form. Also get an opportunity to interact with its faculties and students. If interested, you can also take part in the workshop.

Post breakfast at your respective hotels, we shall set out to explore for the day. The activities are as follows:

Kayaking/ Canoeing Experience (1hr- only for premium packages) | Our first experience will be a Kayaking/ Canoeing activity. Kayaking shall be done an island of Payyanur, where a group of two young men have reclaimed the lost mangrove treasures by their preservation activities. In case of Canoeing, we shall do this within the city limits of Kannur, where you can immerse yourself in the slow of the villages along the Valapattanam river

Visit the Folklore Museum: (2hr) | Explore a captivating museum in Payyanur showcasing Theyyam performances of Kerala’s Malabar region, revealing the enchanting folklore and artistry of these ancient cultural expressions.

Meeting the Theyyam Performer | Experience the passion and dedication of a living legend as they share stories and insights into the rich history and meaning behind each Theyyam. Witness a very small session on face-painting to get introduced to the process , where vibrant colors and intricate designs come to life.

Savor a Traditional Lunch | Indulge in a sumptuous feast of fragrant spices, coconut-infused curries, and delectable local specialties, satisfying your palate with traditional Kerala cuisine

Discover the Bell Metal-Making Village: (45 mins) | Visit Kannur, renowned for bell metal craftsmanship. Witness the meticulous processes involved in creating elegant bell metal artifacts and engage with the community to understand the challenges they face in preserving this age-old tradition.

Exploring the Beedi-Making Community: (45 mins) | Visit a remarkable beedi-making community and learn about the enduring craftsmanship of Kerala. Discover the cooperative society sustaining this ancient trade and the role it played in Kerala’s political renaissance.

Unveiling the Handloom Legacy: (45 mins) | Visit a handloom community in Kannur and witness the intricate tapestries reflecting the region’s rich heritage.
