Moksha Stories
An award winning responsible travel company redefining experiential travel in India—built on authenticity, cultural integrity, and deep, long-standing relationships with communities. We approach travel as a creative craft, shaped through thoughtful storytelling and meaningful human connections.
Journeys, thoughtfully crafted
We design distinctive, purpose-led luxury journeys tailored to every traveller—from cultural immersions and story-led trails to slow honeymoon retreats, performing arts circuits, textile and craft explorations, and nature-centred experiences stretching from the mountains to the sea.
Each journey is co-created with local communities, honouring their dignity, enabling fair opportunities, & ensuring authentic representation—inviting travellers to engage with India not as observers, but as participants in its living culture.
Our greatest strength lies in the stories of our people—artisans, performers, farmers, knowledge keepers, and tradition-bearers whose heritage and wisdom shape the heart of every experience.

Where It All Began
We come from the villages along the River Nila in Palakkad, Kerala, where culture was never curated, but lived. Stories flowed through paddy fields, rituals, crafts, performances, and everyday life. Growing up within this cultural landscape shaped our way of seeing the world. Over time, we realised that many of these living traditions—and the people who carried them, were slowly disappearing, unheard and undocumented. That realisation planted a quiet resolve: to listen, to learn, and to find meaningful ways to honour and sustain these stories.
Through years of travelling across rural and urban India, listening closely and engaging with craftsmen, artists, farmers, home cooks, and cultural practitioners, three critical gaps became clear:
The absence of thoughtfully designed journeys that reveal India’s extraordinary people, landscapes, and living heritage with depth, context, & emotional resonance for travellers from anywhere in the world.
Minimal community involvement and sustainability, where local voices, livelihoods, and knowledge systems were often peripheral to mainstream tourism.
A prevalence of generic, template-driven itineraries that overlooked the magic of place, reduced experiences to checklists, and left little room for authentic connection or storytelling.
Moksha Stories was founded to bridge these gaps, by designing immersive journeys rooted in storytelling, co-created with communities, & guided by deep respect for culture and ecology.

First Steps in Travel Design
In 2017, Moksha Stories took its first steps into professional travel design. curated his first B2B journeys for Tourism dept Kerala for a group of guests from Germany and for The Blue Yonder, a formative phase that marked a turning point in his approach to designing travel experiences.
This year clarified a guiding philosophy: travel design as an art form—where journeys are composed like theatre, local communities are the lead characters, and travellers become participants in a living, unfolding story.
Key milestones
Designed and curated first B2B cultural journeys for a group of European travellers.
Established the foundation for responsible luxury travel rooted in culture, community, and nature.
2018
Restoring Heritage
In 2018, Sreejith restored a 120-year-old farmstead overlooking the Western Ghats, transforming it into a heritage property without disturbing its original soul or cultural integrity.
The space soon attracted discerning travellers from across the world, including artists and public figures, becoming a living example of heritage-led, sensitive restoration. The journey of designing immersive travel experiences continued—primarily through global B2B collaborations.

The Pandemic Storm
The pandemic struck at the peak of growth. In response, Moksha Stories shifted focus from travel to responsibility—standing by the communities and cultural practitioners who had shaped its journeys.
With the support of past travellers and institutions including the TM Krishna Foundation, the team provided financial assistance to 185+ artists and craftspeople affected by COVID-19, while also building digital visibility to help sustain their livelihoods during the crisis.
Amid this period of uncertainty, Mokshanubhava was conceptualised and designed—a pioneering, sensory-led travel programme for the visually impaired. Built around touch, sound, taste, smell, and spatial awareness, the initiative reimagined travel beyond sight and challenged conventional ideas of accessibility and luxury.
